Nancy O'Dell started her career in the broadcast industry as an anchor at WPDE-TV, Myrtle Beach South Carolina. She then worked as an anchor in the morning and a reporter at WCBD TV. The articles written by O'Dell in Charleston on how Charleston police dealt with DUI cases in a manner that was lenient, caused an investigation by State Law Enforcement Division. The inquiry led to a stronger directive for state authorities. In the year 2000, The Associated Press honored Ms. O'Dell with the Best Report of the Years Award across all South Carolina Media. After her time in Charleston O'Dell served as co-anchor and investigative reporter for NBC's Miami station WTVJ-TV before joining Access Hollywood as a weekend anchor and a weekday reporter. In addition to her current job as the lead anchor for Access Hollywood Ms. O'Dell is also an anchor for NBC News' Today and in addition to Dateline NBC. She co-hosted several of pre-show arrivals to The Emmys as well as The Golden Globe Awards. Her other co-hosting credits include Miss USA, the Miss USA pageant, and Miss Universe.
